New Funding for frail aged programme, dementia programme and transport.

Funding has been received from 1st November, 2009 for an additional 24 people per week to attend  the frail aged programme. An additional  16 people per week are also funded to attend the dementia programme. The department has also approved funding for transport. This now means we are funded for the operating costs relating to our buses. The cost of wages relating to paid staff, fuel. repairs, insurance etc. are all now the responsibility of Myrtle Cottage. We are also responsible for the replacenment of buses.

Due to this funding we have now ordered 4 new vehicles. This will result in us replacing 2 Coaster buses that are now 13 years old from our bus fleet plus a Toyota Hi Ace. We have now ordered 2 new Toyota Coaster buses, 1 Toyota Commuter plus 1 Mercedes Sprinter. We expect all new vehicles to be operational by aprox. August, 2009.

These vehicles will be leases for a period of 5 years when ownership will revert to Myrtle Cottage.
