New Funding for a Dementia Outreach Programme.
Funding was received in late June 2007 for Myrtle Cottage to extend the current dementia programme operating in the Campbelltown LGA to increase services in the Camden and Wollondilly LGA,s. Two staff were employed and a Toyota Transporter ( 12 seat ) vehicle purchased using funding provided for this purpose. Premises have been rented at Mt. Annan, Bargo and The Oaks and we are now have small groups of people with dementia attending these centres.
In order to assist other areas of Wollondilly we now pick up people with dementia living in the Appin and Wollondilly areas 1 day per week and transport them to the centre at Ingleburn to provide respite for their carers.
